We welcome stories about community, organizing, chosen family, local places, milestones, challenges, joy, and everyday life. Every story matters — and you decide how it is shared.
Call for Submissions
Issue 1: “Introductions”
We want to begin by getting to know the people, memories, places, and experiences that make up our local queer community. We welcome submissions from LGBTQ+ people connected to Lansing and the surrounding area. Your story can be personal, historical, funny, difficult, hopeful, unfinished, or anything in between.
No professional writing experience is needed. You may use your name, a pseudonym, or ask to remain anonymous.
You might write about:
How you came to Lansing or found queer community here
A person, space, event, or organization that mattered to you
A memory of love, friendship, organizing, survival, or celebration
What being queer in Lansing means to you
A photo, flyer, letter, poem, artwork, or other piece of local queer history, with a short description
All formats welcome:

- Artwork
- Historical documents with descriptions
Your privacy is in your hands
You choose whether your name is shared, whether a pseudonym is used, or whether your story is kept private. Please do not submit another person's personal information without their permission.
All submissions are reviewed by our volunteer team before being published. We may reach out with questions or to discuss how your story will be shared.
